In my talk, I will provide the methodological background leading to the implementation of the "Practices of Synchronization" in our research on second millennium BCE northern Mesopotamia, and the challenges and results from the application of such methods in our research field. I will then tackle the "chronological markers," identified as synchronization elements, in material culture and in urban fabric, and in relation to their provenance from stratigraphic sequences of case studies in northern Mesopotamia. I will show the "chronological markers," how they have been selected, their chronological value, and their cultural meaning. In the wave of a digital-based approach, the chronological markers will be shown in our GIS database and will then be linked spatially. The synchronization of chronological markers will display a relative-chronology frame and will provide a first attempt to the development of “models of synchronicities”.
