Lecture of the research group "HoraProject".

In recent years, a group of scholars have been working on the ancient history of the hours from ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia to Classical and Hellenistic Greece, Rome, and beyond. This research group began as a semester-long fellowship at the Israel Institute for Advanced Study in Jerusalem in 2018, and has been working together regularly since then. The group consists of Sarah Symons (Ancient Egypt), Barbara Sattler (Ancient Greece), Anja Wolkenhauer (Ancient Rome), Jonathan Ben-Dov (Hebrew Bible, Ancient Near East, and Dead Sea Scrolls), Sacha Stern and Sarit Kattan Gribetz (Judaism and Christianity in Antiquity). In their Chronoi Talk, the research group will provide an overview of their ongoing work.
