Prof. Dr. Shahar Arzy

October 24, 2024

3 - 4 pm (CET)

Venue:

Einstein Center Chronoi

Otto-von-Simson-Straße 7, 14195 Berlin

Prof. Dr. Shahar Arzy (Hadassah Hebrew University Medical School)

Our life unfolds in time. Therefore, while speaking about the experiential time we should always consider also the experiencer. To this aim, in this talk I will first briefly address the major concept that connects self and time: mental time travel. This will be done through presentation of four different cognitive constructs: episodic simulation, scene construction, self-projection and self-orientation. Following, I will show how these are affected by different conditions, including temporal (time-scales, age), spatial (laterality, writing direction, spatial neglect), and pathological (amnesia and Alzheimer’s disease).
